My name is Sherri Jolie Fowler and I live in the upper Midwest of the U.S. I have been painting for many years and find so much pleasure in losing myself in my painting projects. I would recommend it to anyone as a form of personal therapy.
My mother was also an artist and passed along her creativity and inspiration. She created beautiful works of art and especially enjoyed painting nudes. I attended Village Art School in Skokie back in the 70’s, but my passion was reignited when I began painting again in 2005. I found Main Street Art Center in Lake Zurich and have studied with many talented artists such as Linda Lukachik, Frankie Johnson and Tom Trausch. River Art School in Algonquin is another creative art studio where I studied Technique Mixe with Fred Wimms and Debbie Howard. I also had the wonderful opportunity of taking several classes with the world renowned artist Gerardo Valerio Trigueros.
I have 2 talented daughters…. Monica, who was a stunning artist and produced several magnificent pastel paintings. My younger daughter Chelsey, is a wonderful photographer with a keen eye for capturing flowers, landscapes and especially animals. I am lucky to have the opportunity to recreate many of her photos into oil and pastel paintings.
I also love to pleine aire paint at various locations whenever I possibly can.
